World Religions Series: The Baha’i Faith
Thursday, March 7, 2013
Dr. Tom’s cross-cultural series continues with the Baha’i Faith, arguably the newest member of the community of world religions. Guests this week include three distinguished Baha’is from California.

Jaleh Kilpatrick is a fifth-generation Baha'i. Born in Teheran, Iran, she traces her family history to clan members who became Baha'is during the 19th century, at the time of Baha'u'llah. On the other end of the historical continuum, Dr. Michael Yenis is a first-generation Baha’i. Dr. Yenis holds degrees in International Relations and psychology; he currently works at the San Francisco Baha'i Center office. Although this week’s third guest, Dr. Shabnam Koirala Azad, grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal, she currently serves as associate professor of international and multicultural education at the University of San Francisco.

Unity Institute® and Seminary Master of Divinity student Dinah Chapman, Dr. Tom’s student guest cohost for the program, is a licensed Unity teacher currently serving at Unity of San Leandro, California. Dinah holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, has worked as a systems engineer, software developer, and Information Technology Business Consultant Specialist with a major California health care provider in I.T. internal audit and compliance. A singer and songwriter, she has released a CD of positive, New Thought music.
