You Don’t “Have-to”: It’s a Choice

With “have-to” language, it absolves us from personal responsibility. It makes us a victim of the world, or other people, or of our circumstances. We can learn that there is no force here in the world that can make us do anything. There is always a choice. Once you acknowledge you have a choice, then you can come from a place of empowerment. As it says in ACIM, “… where you made a faulty choice before you now can make a better one, and thus escape all pain that what you chose before has brought to you.”
